 Drawing Lesson

Description:

This was our first student-led art project. We talked about a famous artist named Wassily Kandisky. We talked about his life and got to see some examples of his work as an artist. We then discussed shapes, both organic and geometric. Once it was time to work, we got paper and were asked to draw three of each shape. We then drew a line down the middle to split the shapes. We created patterns using oil pastels, then got to paint our shapes. 

Extension:

For an extension activity, students could do a history report on other famous artists that were known for their drawings. They could write a short biography on the artists lives, they could then get the opportunity to share what they learned with the class.
